DESCRIPTION:Once again Shrine Mont has teamed up with Orkney Springs Outfitters to offer an immersive introduction to Fly Fishing weekend course designed to teach students about the intricacies of fly fishing with hands on instruction that covers everything from tying flies and casting to pond and river fishing at the South River for trout. During the 3 day event\, students will start with the basics of casting\, practice on a stocked pond and then hit the river for a day of quality fishing. This class is perfect for intermediate to advanced fly fishers. \nLodging and meals are included in the package.\nAbout the instructor:\n\nDavid Clark learned to tie flies at the age of 12\, selling them to the old anglers at Columbia Fish & Game in Lancaster Pennsylvania. He finally learned to fly fish at the age of 15 with the help of a local fly shop owner. After several trips to New Mexico\, Colorado\, Connecticut\, Pennsylvania\, North Carolina and West Virginia over the next several decades\, David decided to immerse himself in the craft by dedicating 110 days during the 2020-2021 fly fishing season to study many of the fly-fishing destinations here in Virginia and the fly patterns they support. DESCRIPTION:The Spring Yoga Retreat marks its 10th year and each retreat held at Shrine Mont has been different and awesome because we always have wonderful people who attend.  Shrine Mont offers hiking and space for contemplative strolls\, a labyrinth\, pure mineral spring water\, and nourishing and delicious\, homestyle southern meals. Chefs are also able to accommodate vegetarian and gluten free diets. \nThe theme this year comes from a song “Feeling Good – Stars when you shine\, you know how I feel – Scent of the pine\, you know how I feel – Oh\, freedom is mine – And I know how I feel.”  A weekend to feel the yoga movement\, the calming meditation and a beautiful place to feel centered. \nConnect with your mind\, body\, and spirit with a Chakra workshop – that includes yoga\, teas and meditations that help you balance and cleanse your chakras.  We have two guest yoga teachers –  Barbara and Abigail and a guest speaker\, Dabney for the Chakra workshop.
